Vatted malt whisky :

A vatted malt whisky, which often carries the malt label “pure”, although certain individual malts also adopted this qualifier, is an assembly of individual malts, generally of the same origin geographical, which respects the taste characteristic of the area. The development and the marketing of individual malt removed much of their interest to them.

The degree of alcohol of the malt whiskies is tiny room to 40° (43° for export) before the setting out of bottle. Certain individual malts are proposed by independent bottlers, which buy in bulk, with higher degrees like Cadenhead, with 46°, or some even with the force of the barrel, i.e. approximately 64°. The alcoholic power does not play a paramount part in the perception of qualities of individual malt, that the experts appreciate most of the time with 30°.
